BE Cares Partners With Insuperbali To Support Athletes With Disabilities Across Italy
Football has the power to create belonging. This month, BE (BE Club), through its BE Cares community impact program, partnered with Insuperabili to help make that sense of community and connection more accessible to all.
Earlier this month, BE announced that its BE Cares programme will support the next season of football schools run by Insuperabili through its community support initiative. The funding will be provided to Insuperabili, a registered ETS (Ente del Terzo Settore), to help cover coaching, equipment and the day-to-day delivery of its programmes, enabling more children and young people to access inclusive football opportunities.
This initiative addresses a clear gap in Italian sport. According to ISTAT, only 9.1% of people with disabilities in Italy participate in sport, compared with 36.6% of the general population. Insuperabili has spent more than a decade working to close that gap through specialised football schools that combine coaching with psychological and developmental support.
How it works
BE Cares will provide support to Insuperabili, a registered ETS (Ente del Terzo Settore), to fund the coaching, equipment and day-to-day running of its football schools as it plans its next phase of programmes.
"This initiative comes at exactly the right moment. Over the past few weeks, the whole world was focused on football, creating an opportune time to ask what the sport should stand for. But timing aside, this is a partnership that simply makes sense, Insuperabili has spent over a decade proving what's possible when a community commits to something bigger than itself, and that's precisely the kind of leadership BE Cares was built to stand behind. When you find a partner whose values align closely with your own, you don't overthink it, you get to work," said Moyn Islam, CEO & Co-Founder, BE.
"For thirteen years, Insuperabili has been built on a simple belief: every athlete deserves a team that trains them and never treats their ability as a limit. Partnering with BE Cares means real support for our coaches and our athletes, and a global community choosing to stand with us at a moment when the world's attention is on football. It tells our athletes and their families: they are not on the margins of this sport.
Looking ahead
While the World Cup may have crowned just one team, BE Cares and Insuperabili are building something meant to outlast a single tournament — a partnership BE and Insuperabili are committed to continuing as they look at further ways to work together.
